The founder of Nawabi’s collection Bhavna Gupta, a daughter, wife, mother and entrepreneur is deeply in love with handcrafted and sustainable lifestyle, philosophy of decency, simplicity and versatility. “She is creative and has always dreamed of doing something in creative.

Bhavna is full of life with a warmth in her smile, even a stranger can turn into a friend gradually. She believes in continuous learning, is a dreamer and embraces challenges with confidence.

“After her father’s death, her mother was the sole driving force behind ensuring that each of her children received a high-quality education. She completed her MSc in Botany with the dream of becoming a researcher. However, after her mother passed away, she took up her mother’s job and pursued her MSc while working. Amidst all this, she got married, and her elder daughter was born in 2003. In 2004, she took a break from her job to focus on raising her children.”

However, her passion for creativity never faded. She always wanted to build something of her own, and handcrafted clothing from different parts of India had always captivated her. She loved designing her own outfits using handmade, unstitched fabrics. This passion became the foundation of Nawabi’s Collection, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey.

Our Story

At nawabi’s collection we believe every stitch tells a story- a story of passion , tradition and a dream woven into reality.

She grew up surrounded by the timeless beauty of Chikankari in the narrow streets of Lucknow, where artisans meticulously embroidered delicate white thread onto various fabrics. She watched as designs took shape through chapai—the age-old technique of imprinting patterns with blue ink using handcrafted molds then artisan broght these patterns to life with their craftsmanship.

Deeply inspired by this craftsmanship, she felt immense pride in India’s rich textile heritage. This enduring admiration for handmade artistry fueled her passion for clothing.

Our journey began in 2017, born from a heartfelt desire to share the exquisite art of Chikankari with the world. What started as a humble home business has now grown into a global venture, offering a diverse range of ready-to-wear ensembles and unstitched fabrics, each adorned with intricate, handcrafted Chikankari, reaching customers across the globe.

Our founder personally visits artisans and stays closely connected with manufacturers to understand their challenges firsthand. Each article carries a legacy of Lucknow’s intricate chikankari embroidery. From a delicate Bakhia(shadow work), Fanda (knot), Murri (grain shaped knot), Keel Kangan ( floral motifs), Jaali(net like), Hool (eyelet stitch) every stitch reflects the timeless beauty and grace of this culture wealth.
